Relocating people after the eruption of Mount Merapi is in order to dissociate public from the threat of disaster. Relocation should not only just move people, but rather to rebuild people’s lives better. Community has participated actively since early start of designing creation and also they directly involved in the establishment of their house. Some houses have been extended independently by their owner and people’s lives have been gradually returning to normal. Research conducted in Hunian Tetap Pagerjurang shows that people around the relocation can accept the presence of their new neighbour so there’s no conflict between them. Some of problems that should be faced are the difficulty to fulfill the needs of cattle feed and activities for the elderly. Difficulty of fulfillment feed for cattle caused by additional costs that should be spend because of the distance to pasture. The activity of the elderly tend to be reduced due to lack of land yard that used to be their place to fill the time with farming activities or fodder.
